Arunachal Pradesh


  1. India, Singapore conduct a 3-day naval exercise
  2. India and Singapore have carried out a mega naval wargame in the southern fringes of the South China Sea over the last three days, in reflection of their growing congruence of interests in the strategically key region.
  3. The Indian Navy deployed its guided-missile destroyer INS Ranvijay, anti-submarine warfare corvette INS Kiltan and guided-missile corvette INS Kora and one P8I long-range maritime patrol aircraft

India Plastics Pact

  1. The India Plastics Pact, the first in Asia, will be launched in September in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
  2. While the India Plastics Pact will be active in India, it will link globally with other Plastics Pacts.
  3. The Pact will develop a road map for guidance, form action groups composed of members, and initiate innovation projects.
  4. Members’ accountability is ensured through ambitious targets and annual data reporting.

Indian Royal Jelly

  1. Royal Jelly is a pearl white or pale yellow-colored cohesive mixture of honey and secretions from hypopharyngeal & mandibular glands of worker honeybees.
  2. According to Pune-based researchers, Indian Royal Jelly was found to surpass top-quality sellers like produced in Thailand and Taiwan.
  3. Royal Jelly is known for being a good antioxidant. It helps women with fertility issues.
  4. Indian Royal Jelly meets the ISO-prescribed standards prescribed by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) in 2019.
  5. India did not have any set standards for its royal jelly before 2019 when FSSAI imposed ISO standards.

2+2 dialogue

  1. The fourth annual 2+2 dialogue between India and the U.S. would be held in November this year in Washington,
  2. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh would be hosted by their American counterparts Secretary of State Blinken and Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin for the maiden India-U.S. 2+2 meeting under the Biden administration

UK sanctions on Myanmar

  1. New sanctions were imposed on Myanmar to affect the businesses that provide financial support to the military junta.
  2. According to the UK government, new sanctions are aimed at Myanmar businessman U Tay Za and his Htoo Group.
  3. Htoo business group is a large business network that controls several activities in Myanmar. It has been accused of funding the clearance of Rohingya in Rakhine in 2017.

New Development Bank

  1. The New Development Bank (NDB) established by the BRICS ((Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) countries in 2015 has approved Bangladesh as its new member.
  2. NDB has initiated its membership expansion and started formal negotiations with prospective members in late 2020
  3. The NDB Board of Governors initiated the negotiation to expand its membership in 2020.
  4. It has now approved the United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, and Bangladesh as its first new member countries.

Brazil suspends Sinovac

  1. Brazil health regulator suspends use of 12 million Sinovac vaccine shots
  2. Brazil’s federal health regulator Anvisa on September 4 suspended the use of over 12 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine developed by China’s Sinovac Biotech Ltd that were produced in an unauthorized plant

Krishna Nagar

  1. Krishna Nagar wins gold in men’s singles badminton
  2. The 22-year-old from Jaipur seeded second, saw off his rival 21-17 16-21 21-17 in the final to retain his unbeaten run at the Games and join compatriot Pramod Bhagat in the gold medal-winning list.
  3. This was India’s fifth gold at the Games.

Avani Lekhara

  1. Shooter Avani Lekhara Wins Bronze, First Indian Woman To Win 2 Medals At Single Paralympics
  2. India’s Avani Lekhara clinched her second medal at the ongoing Tokyo Paralympics by winning the bronze in the women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions (SH1) event.
  3. The 19-year-old, who had become the first Indian woman to win gold at the Paralympics by finishing top of the podium in the women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing (SH1) event, made more history with a third-place finish in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions event.

Visa d’Or for News

  1. A Myanmar photographer won the top award at photojournalism’s biggest annual festival for his coverage of the troubled nation’s pro-democracy protests and bloody military crackdown.
  2. The photographer, who remained unnamed for security reasons, scooped the Visa d’Or for News, the most prestigious award handed out at the “Visa Pour L’Image” festival in Perpignan, southwestern France.
